The
Visitor's Concourse at Martin Mere is part of a unique log
cabin complex, built
to a Scandinavian design.
The Spruce logs, from which
the building is constructed, were cut, peeled and tongued
& grooved in Norway and the numbered pieces assembled upon
arrival at Martin Mere.
It has a unique turf roof,
which provides insulation and ensures that the building
blends with the surrounding flat landscape and also camouflages
it from the air.
Adjacent
to the Concourse
are the Book and Gift Shop, as well as the Pinkfoot Pantry,
where you can enjoy a cup of coffee or treat yourself to
a mouth watering meal.
